- Day 1
Your journey begins as you step off the plane and onto Ugandan soil at Entebbe International Airport. The moment you arrive, your tour guide is there to make you feel welcomed and at ease. They’ll assist you through the entry formalities, ensuring a smooth start to your adventure. While you may be feeling the fatigue of travel, your guide’s warm greeting sets a positive tone for your entire trip. They provide an initial overview of what lies ahead and help you check in to your accommodation.
- Day 2
Early morning After a hearty breakfast, you’ll set off for the bustling city of Kampala, Uganda’s capital. During the drive, your guide becomes your storyteller, sharing fascinating insights into the city’s history and culture, then you will drive northwest to Murchison Falls National Park, home to the thunderous Murchison Falls. You may stop at the Rhino Sanctuary where you will have an opportunity to trek Rhinos. There are 15 Rhinos that were reintroduced after their extinction in the 1970s through poaching. With the guide of a local ranger, the guide will have an up-close encounter with the rhinos and it may take about 1 and half hours. You will then proceed to Masindi Town for lunch and later continue to Murchison Falls National Park.
- Day 3
The day begins early, with the tour guide waking the guests at dawn for an exciting game drive in Murchison Falls National Park. During the safari, they use their extensive knowledge to spot and explain the local wildlife, including elephants, lions, giraffes, and buffaloes. Fascinating stories and anecdotes about wildlife enrich the experience. In the afternoon, the guide organizes a relaxing boat cruise on the Nile River to allow guests to get up close to the majestic Murchison Falls and spot animals like hippos and crocodiles. The birdlife is so rich. Species like goliath heron, Egyptian goose, pelican bee-eater, kingfisher, hornbill, cormorant, and the rare shoebill stork may be seen. They provide detailed explanations about the geology and history of the area, creating a deeper connection with nature.
- Day 4
After a hearty breakfast, you’ll journey to Kibale Forest National Park. During the drive, your tour guide will entertain you with stories about the region and its transition from savannah to rainforest. Once you arrive, the guide will assist you in settling into your accommodations and provide additional details about the forest and the upcoming activities.
- Day 5
After breakfast at your lodge, transfer to the starting point of your Chimpanzee Habituation experience in Kibale Forest National Park which is reputed to have the greatest variety and highest concentration of primates in East Africa. Kibale’s 1450 Chimpanzees represent Uganda’s largest population of this endangered primate. Kibale is also home to the rare I’Hoest’s monkey. Other primates include the black and white Colobus, Blue monkey, Grey-cheeked mangabey, Red-tailed monkey, and Olive baboon to mention but a few. Therefore, you will enjoy a guided nature walk in the tropical rainforest in search of wild chimpanzees, red-tailed monkeys, black and white Columbus monkeys, and many others.
- Day 6
An adventurous day awaits with a game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park, following the ranges of Mountain Ruwenzoriwhere you can spot Africa’s “Big Five.” In the afternoon, the guide will arrange a relaxing boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel, known for its extraordinary concentration of wildlife, including hippos, crocodiles, and a multitude of birds. The guide will provide information about the unique wildlife and geography of the channel.
- Day 7
The day begins early, with the tour guide waking the guests at dawn for an exciting game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park. During the safari, they use their extensive knowledge to spot and explain the local wildlife, including lions, elephants, giraffes, and buffaloes. Fascinating stories and anecdotes about wildlife enrich the experience. In the afternoon, the guide organizes a relaxing boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel, where guests can get up close to a variety of animals, including hippos, crocodiles, and a myriad of birds. The guide provides details about the species and the history of the channel, creating a deeper connection with nature.
- Day 8
After enjoying a final breakfast in the enchanting Queen Elizabeth National Park, you’ll journey to one of the most anticipated destinations of the trip: Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. During the trip, the tour guide will provide insights into the forest’s significance and wildlife conservation efforts, preparing you for the incredible experience that awaits.
- Day 9
After an early breakfast, move into the forest and start trekking the mountain gorillas. Coming face to face with the largest primates is a memorable adventurous experience that can never be forgotten. Gorilla Habituation in Bwindi involves trekking up steep muddy and densely forested slopes so it may require some level of fitness. – the only forest in Africa that can make this claim. It also hosts five other species of primate, 113 species of mammal, over 200 butterflies, and 360 birds. The gorillas you trek to belong to one of nine habituated family groups that can tolerate the presence of humans for a brief period every day. The time taken to trek the gorillas can be as few as 3 hours to as many as 7 hours. Once the gorillas have been located, your group will be allowed a maximum of 4 hours with them. Coming face-to-face with a mountain gorilla is a truly humbling and emotional experience. Return to the lodge where you will enjoy dinner with your fellow travelers before getting a good night’s rest for tomorrow’s safari adventure. Don’t forget to carry your rain gear, packed lunch, plenty of water, gloves, hat, and waterproof bag for protection of your camera in case of rain.
- Day 10
Leaving Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, you’ll head to the picturesque Lake Bunyonyi, a place of serenity and natural beauty. The guide will lead you through scenic landscapes, sharing stories about the local culture and traditions of the community living in this region. Then, you’ll continue the journey to Lake Mburo National Park, one of the smallest parks in Uganda. It’s also famed for its Zebras. Here you will spot Zebras Elands among others. You will enjoy a boat ride on the Lake Mburo.
- Day 11
The day kicks off with a game drive in Lake Mburo National Park, where your guide’s eagle eyes help spot the park’s wildlife. In the afternoon, you’ll enjoy a boat ride on the tranquil waters of Lake Mburo, guided by your tour expert who highlights the natural beauty and birdlife.
- Day 12
Here you will be able to stand in both the northern and southern hemispheres at the same time. You will also have an opportunity to see water swirl in the opposite direction. On this day, you’ll bid farewell to the serene Lake Mburo National Park and make your way back to Kampala. Your guide ensures a smooth transition and shares stories and memories from your journey.
- Day 13
Today brings a thrilling adventure – white water rafting! You will visit the most adventurous town in Uganda. Here you have so many activities to choose from. White water rafting, quad biking, tubing, and bungee jumping, make this a day of unforgettable excitement.
- Day 14
On the final day of your journey, you’ll be awakened by the sounds of birds at Lake Mburo National Park. Here, you’ll embark on one last game drive, spotting the park’s wildlife. Later, the guide will accompany you on the journey back to Entebbe, where you’ll reflect on the extraordinary experiences in Uganda and prepare for your return flight. The guide will assist with departure procedures and share stories and suggestions for further exploration of the country in the future.
