- Day 1
The day begins at Entebbe Airport, where the tour guide welcomes the group with a warm smile and a sign bearing the group’s name. This marks the start of the Uganda adventure. The guide assists guests with entry formalities and provides a brief overview of what to expect in the coming days. They are a reassuring presence, ready to answer any questions and offer practical information about the country. Once checked into the hotel, the guide provides suggestions on what to do in the area during free time and what to expect for the first day of the adventure.
- Day 2
Early morning you will drive northwest to Murchison Falls National Park, home to the thunderous Murchison Falls. You may stop at the Rhino Sanctuary where you will have an opportunity to trek Rhinos. There are 15 Rhinos that were reintroduced after their extinction in the 1970s through poaching. With the guide of a local ranger, the guide will have an up-close encounter with the rhinos and it may take about 1 and half hours. You will then proceed to Masindi Town for lunch and later continue to Murchison Falls National Park.
- Day 3
The day begins early, with the tour guide waking the guests at dawn for an exciting game drive in Murchison Falls National Park. During the safari, they use their extensive knowledge to spot and explain the local wildlife, including elephants, lions, giraffes, and buffaloes. Fascinating stories and anecdotes about wildlife enrich the experience. In the afternoon, the guide organizes a relaxing boat cruise on the Nile River to allow guests to get up close to the majestic Murchison Falls and spot animals like hippos and crocodiles. The birdlife is so rich. Species like goliath heron, Egyptian goose, pelican bee-eater, kingfisher, hornbill, cormorant, and the rare shoebill stork may be seen. They provide detailed explanations about the geology and history of the area, creating a deeper connection with nature.
- Day 4
This day is dedicated to an incredible close encounter with primates. The tour guide leads the group into the fascinating Budongo Forest in search of curious chimpanzees. They know the forest trails like the back of their hand and recognize primate signals. It’s a unique opportunity to observe these intelligent animals in their natural habitat. After this memorable experience, the guide accompanies the group to Fort Portal, providing information about the region during the journey. The forest is of a medium altitude (average 1,100m). The land extends from southeast to northwest, and its four main rivers, the Waisoke, the Sonso, the Kamirambwa, and the Siba, flow towards the northwest towards the Albertine Rift.
- Day 5
This day we head to the Home of the endangered mountain Gorillas. This becomes more exciting as you pass through the Ishasha sector which is known for its tree climbing lions. The scenic beauty is breathtaking as go through the winding roads usually referred to as the “Switzerland of Africa”
- Day 6
After an early breakfast, move into the forest and start trekking the mountain gorillas. Coming face to face with the largest primates is a memorable adventurous experience that can never be forgotten. Gorilla Habituation in Bwindi involves trekking up steep muddy and densely forested slopes so it may require some level of fitness. – the only forest in Africa that can make this claim. It also hosts five other species of primate, 113 species of mammal, over 200 butterflies, and 360 birds. The gorillas you trek to belong to one of nine habituated family groups that can tolerate the presence of humans for a brief period every day. The time taken to trek the gorillas can be as few as 3 hours to as many as 7 hours. Once the gorillas have been located, your group will be allowed a maximum of 4 hours with them. Coming face-to-face with a mountain gorilla is a truly humbling and emotional experience. Return to the lodge where you will enjoy dinner with your fellow travelers before getting a good night’s rest for tomorrow’s safari adventure. Don’t forget to carry your rain gear, packed lunch, plenty of water, gloves, hat, and waterproof bag for protection of your camera in case of rain.
- Day 7
On the final day of the adventure, the tour guide accompanies the group on the last leg of the journey back to Entebbe Airport. It’s a time for reflection on the unforgettable Uganda experience. The guide assists with departure formalities and, before saying goodbye, shares stories and suggestions for future explorations of the country. It’s a moment to bid farewell to Uganda with hearts full of extraordinary memories.
